Want to spend a week in Ottawa with students, ages 15-17, from across the country?
Take advantage of a great leadership experience at the Encounters with Canada program! Expand your knowledge about the era of instant communications, electronic and social media and how they have become essential sources of information.
***For a limited time, the cost is only $589 (from $750) for the week and includes flight, meals, lodging and program!
During this theme week you will :
Flight Simulation: Electricity, potentiometers and a homemade joystick and instrument panel bring a Flight Simulation to life. Youth will learn how pilots take flight in this flight simulation demonstration.
3D Printing: With the ever-mainstreaming use of 3D printing, LM Canada explains the mechanics behind 3D printing and introduces youth to software known as Blender. Youth will be tasked to create their own custom 3D designs.
Media Room: Virtual Reality, a Line Following Robot, and Coding Stations will be on display for youth to try out. Youth will be able to test their knowledge of coding problem solving, experience firsthand what it is like on a Canadian Frigate and understand ‘test and trial’ practices via a line following robot.

Visit Ottawa's Museum of Science & Techonology
Ottawa’s Haunted Walk: Visit inside the old Carleton County Jail (now the Ottawa Jail Hostel), where Patrick Whelan was hanged as a murderer. Be guided in total darkness by lantern light through the haunted hallways of the old Jail, Death Row and the last working Gallows in Canada.

There are 36 weeks throughout the school year and 13 more themes for students to choose from.
The regular registration cost is $750 minus the provincial subsidy of $86, so $664 per student. (limited availability) and some select theme weeks have additional promotional discounts!
As always, this includes the program, roundtrip flight to Ottawa, and accommodations and meals for the week at the Terry Fox Centre!
