Wednesday, May 9th, 2018

Athletics:
1) Good luck to the Girls Rugby team as they take on CPA today at 3:30pm at CPA.  The girls are to be dismissed at 2pm.
2) Tryouts for the Boys Slopitch team will begin today.  A hitting session will be held on the field at lunch.  Students are asked to go to the field immediately after the bell.  An indoor fielding session for the boys team will be held on Friday at lunch in the gym.  Students must bring their own gloves.
3) Tryouts for the Girls Slopitch team will begin tomorrow.  An indoor fielding session will be held on Thursday in the gym at lunch with a hitting session on the field on Monday at lunch.  Students are reminded to bring their own gloves.
4) Members of the track team will be given information from Mr. Crawford today regarding their fees.  Track athletes must have their fees/form handed in to Mr. Wilcox by Friday this week if they want to be permitted to compete at the track meets next week.  Final practice prior to the first meet will be Wednesday afterschool.  Team list will be posted on Friday.
The meet is Monday and Tuesday next week.  Team fees are as follows:
$20 if you have your own singlet, $30 if you need a singlet or would like a new one
Potential Track team members are asked to meet at the beginning of lunch in the gym

Band News
There are no ensembles at lunch this week.

Political Science Club
All members of the political science club who ordered a t-shirt have to bring $20 each to the meeting at lunch this Wednesday

Gardening Club
Any student or staff member wishing to be part of starting a garden club, please meet Ms. Knox in B104 at lunch on Friday, May 11. Hope to see you there!!

BBQ
There will be a prom BBQ today at lunch. Hotdogs will be 2$ each

Duke of Edinburgh
There will be a VERY important lunchtime meeting of the Duke of Edinburgh Award participants at the beginning of lunch on Thursday in Ms. Gurney's room (A106). If you are unable to attend, please see Ms. Gurney at some other point this week to find out what you'll be missing.

Attention Grade 12 Graduating Students:
Grad fees of $60 are due as soon as possible.  You are able to pay by cheque or cash.  These fees cover rental of the Halifax Forum, gowns, and other costs associated with graduation.  Please see Mrs. Daigle in Guidance to pay your grad fees. 

Important Grad Dates:

May 22, period 1 Grad assembly

June 4, period 1 grad breakfast and Valedictorian speak off

June 23, Prom here at Lockview

June 26, 1 pm Grad line up practice and gown pick up

June 27, Graduation ceremony, Halifax Forum 7 pm.
