We have received more paint and have lots of materials to prime and paint so we need as many painters as we can get. Remember to bring your paint clothes on Monday.

Other:
*Today is International Women’s Day; a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

*Attention students: 20 lucky grade 11 students will have a chance to get a parking pass for this semester.  Please pick up a ballot in Student Services by lunch time on Monday and 20 names will be randomly drawn after March Break for a parking pass.

*Most e-cigarettes contain nicotine (in fact one JUUL pod contains as much as 20 regular cigarettes).  Using nicotine in adolescence can harm the parts of the brain that control attention, learning, mood, and impulse control.

*Today’s Canadian heritage fact is about Major General John Inglis.  Born in Nova Scotia in 1815, the son of Charles Inglis and the grandson of the loyalist bishop Charles Inglis; John joined the army in 1833 and went on to see action in the lower Canada rebellion in 1837-38, the second Anglo-Sikh war and the siege of Lucknow during the Indian mutiny.  During the siege the first in command was mortally wounded and Inglis took command, successfully defending the compound for 87 days against an overwhelming force of mutineers.  The people of NS hailed him as a hero, presenting him with a sword and naming Inglis Street in Halifax after him.
