Athletics:
1) Good luck to the Curling team as they take on Sackville at 9:00 am and Halifax West at 12:30 pm in the Metro Region Tournament today at the Mayflower.

2) Good luck to the Varsity Girls Basketball team as they host Auburn in their final regular season game today at 4 pm.

3) Good luck to the Varsity Boys Basketball team as they host Dartmouth in their final regular season game today at 6 pm.

4) Practice for the Gr. 9 Girls Flag Football team has been cancelled for today.

5) Open Badminton has been cancelled for tonight.

Guidance:
*The Lieutenant Governor’s Medal is awarded to two (2) Grade 11 students whom show leadership, strong community and school involvement, and have commendable marks.  If you know of a Grade 11 student that you think would be a candidate for this award and you would like to nominate them, please forward their names to Mr. Blakeney by Friday, Feb. 21st, 2020 via e-mail at Jblakeney@hrce.ca

Black History Month:
*Born to parents from Africville, NS on the shores of the Bedford Basin in the 1920’s, Mildred Dixon danced at the famed Cotton Club in Harlem, New York. She went on to be part of the dance team “Mildred and Henri”. They were one of the finest professional ballroom dance acts in the United States at that time.
