There will be a Jack.org meeting in the Youth Health Centre today at lunch. Anyone with an interest in Mental Health are encouraged to join.

Congrats to the boys' Hockey team who locked up first place after the round-robin at the Metro High School Hockey Regional Tournament. Lockview will be home to CPA for the regional banner on Saturday at 7:00 pm at the Civic Arena. (https://hmhshl.com/news/7737/Regional-Finals-Set/)  Come on out to cheer them on! The team has automatically qualified for provincials!
Congrats to the girls' varsity basketball team that, despite the loss, played a great game against the number one team in the city last night.
JV Boys, JV Girls, & Boys Varsity team members who forgot to hand in their uniforms must do so to Mr. Stach ASAP.
Sign-ups for the badminton team, Girls Slo-Pitch and Girls Lacross, will be posted outside the AD’s office today.

In honour of African Heritage Month, here is some information on a prominent African Nova Scotian: Senator Wanda Thomas Bernard.
Dr. Wanda Thomas Bernard is a highly regarded social worker, educator, researcher, community activist and advocate of social change hailing from East Preston. She is the first Black Canadian to have an academic tenure position and become a full professor at Dalhousie University where her research focused on anti-oppression and diversity. In 2016, she was named to the Senate of Canada by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and she is the first African Nova Scotian woman to serve in the Senate Chamber. She has received the Order of Nova Scotia and the Order of Canada for her work addressing racism and diversity in the field of social work.
