Athletics:
1) Congrats to the Boys Hockey team on defeating Citadel 2-1 on Saturday night to win their playoff series.  With the win the boys advance to the Regional tournament.

2) Congrats to the Varsity Girls Basketball team on their win over CPA on Friday to capture 3rd place in the Capital Regional playdowns.  The win advances the girls to the Provincial championships.

3) Congrats to the Girls Hockey team on winning the Avon View tournament this past weekend.  The girls advanced to provincials earlier last week with a 2nd place finish at regionals.

4) Congrats to the Curling team on a bounce back game on Friday in the Metro semifinals.  The day before they lost to the #1 ranked team, SJA, however, in the semis they played SJA in a rematch and played their best game of the tournament.  They tied the match up with 2 points in the 7th end, only to lose on the final shot in the last end.  They will try and win the consolation game on Thursday.  

Other:
*Yearbooks are now for sale on our school website.  There are only 200 available and sales are first come, first served so reserve yours soon.

*Attention Grade 9,10 and 11 students.  The Student Portal in Power School for "Class Registration" will be closing on Feb. 27th.   Please be sure to enter in your course selections for next year by Thursday. Student Services staff will be in the C205 computer lab at lunchtime this week to answer any questions you may have.

*All students who signed up to write the Waterloo Math Contests (Pascal, Cayley and Fermat), they will be written in D 205 during A Block on Tuesday, February 25.

Black History Month:
*In 2007 author Lawrence Hill released his novel “The book of Negroes”.   The registry of names “The Book of Negroes”, was based on an actual historical record which was the first of its kind in North America.  Much of the African Nova Scotian population can trace their family lineage using this book.
